Microsoft Unveils Surface Tablet

Microsoft Surface
Microsoft Surface- PC Gamer
On Monday, June 19, 2012, Microsoft has finally unveiled their next generation tab, the Surface.
Microsoft Surface is a line of tablet devices running the company's next-generation Windows operating system and marks Microsoft's first foray into the ever-expanding tablet market. Yes, you read that correctly: Microsoft will be building and branding its own tablets, effectively competing with its own hardware partners such as Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and Lenovo.

The Surface tablets will be available in two distinct versions. The first, running Windows RT -- effectively the "light" version of Windows 8 -- will launch in the fall, around the same time as Windows 8 does, and run on an as-yet-unnamed ARM CPU. While it won't have the full desktop version of Windows 8, running only the Metro apps available through the Windows app store, it will include a version of Microsoft Office at no additional charge.

New Canon Rebel with Touchscreen on June 8?

It seems that June 8th will be the release date for the next in line Rebel DSLR for Canon. The 650D would be the Canons’ first proper DSLR to boast a touchscreen after the patent application was filed in 2011. Additions to the touchscreen, rumored specs include 18MP CMOS sensor (which is the same resolution as the Rebel T3i), 9 cross-type AF points and full-time AF in video mode.

Canon EOS-1D X will be delayed until July

Canon has previously announced that EOS-1D X will be release in mid-2012 but according to sources it seems that the release date will be delayed until July. According to CanonRumors, blame being placed on battery approval in Japan, FCC approval in the United States, production issues with certain parts of the camera, serious firmware issues that had to be resolved to name a few. Canon has kept the issues very close to the vest and very few people know the exact reasons.

EOS-1D X is Canons’ latest flagship professional DSLR. The 18MP camera is built around a full-frame sensor capable of shooting at up to 14 frames per second (12fps with AF), allowing it to replace both the 1D Mark IV and 1DS Mark III in Canon's lineup.

Canon EOS 650D unconfirmed features

Today CanonRumors has announces some more news regarding Canon EOS 650D. According to them the new canon EOS will have new 18-135 lens with a silent autofocus motor as the new feature of the lens.

There have also been a few suggestions the next Rebel will have a touch screen and built in WiFi. But keep in mind that any of these features cannot be confirmed at this time either.
Other unconfirmed specs show the camera to be 18.1mp and running DIGIC 5, which should improve noise performance and overall image quality.

They also predicted the announcement and complete spec for T4i/650D will be released after the 5D Mark III begins shipping across the globe this week and most probably a new Rebel could arrive before NAB Show which will be held April mid week in Las Vegas.

iPhone 5 to support 4G LTE

Apple unveiled this week the new iPad, iPad HD. One of the major new features is the option to get 4G LTE on the iPad. 4G LTE is offered by Verizon and AT&T in the United States. The coverage area of 4G LTE is still far from complete. Verizon's 4G LTE network is available in 196 cities. On top of that the 4G LTE chip inside the iPad is not supporting European 4G LTE networks. Apple just made the 4G LTE option for the US carriers. Did Apple get paid by AT&T and Verizon to offer a 4G LTE iPad? Maybe. In any case Apple has jumped the gun and is now offering LTE connectivity on the iPad. This makes it very likely or even sure that the new iPhone 5 expected this fall will have 4G LTE connectivity.

Apple needs though to support international 4G LTE markets with the new iPhone 5 to not disappoint and confuse even more consumers abroad.

Nikon D4 is also delayed for another month?

Update 3-9-2012:
Finally Nikon is back in track.
The Nikon D4 camera is again open for pre-order on Amazon with a release date of March 20th, 2012. Amazon stopped taking pre-orders just few hours after the D4 announcement. They probably now know how many cameras they will get in the first shipment and started taking pre-orders again.

The Nikon D800 is also listed with a March 20th release date. No release date is given for the D800E.

Original Post:

I should not hear this as a beloved Nikon Fan. But we have to accept the truth. While Canon is getting ready for the big day on March 2nd with Canon 5D Mark III, There are rumors going on about delaying Nikon D4 for another one month. I'm already disappointed with Nikon when I hear the story about delaying the release date for D800E and this is a shocking for me.

Proposed release dates for New Nikon product line as follows
  • Nikon D800: March 22nd
  • Nikon D800E: April 12th (B&H has listed April 16th)
  • Nikon D4: second half of April
From above, both Nikon D4 and Nikon D800E have changed their release dates. So our only hope is Nikon D800 at the moment. Let's forget about the release date. I still believe Nikon is (still) the best DSLR in universe. Please do comment on that.
